Comment:

Here again--start with Singh's OK and mix from there; I never listen to a CD straight through.
Released for public consumption 1-1-99. Original release contained a rare N.S. trading card..
For scores of seven years, or so, our fathers brought forth upon
their countenance, a new attitude, conceived in Social Equality,
and dedicated to reparations so that all men could again be equal,
whether they were created that way or not.

Now we are engaged in a great societal war, testing whether that
notion, or any notion so conceived and so dead-ended, can long endear me to my constituency. We are met on a great intellectual battle-field of that "war". We have come to dedicate a portion of the earnings of those making more than they should, as a token appeasement for those who feel it's their right to live their lives in a manner in which Whitey lives. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.

But, in a larger sense, we can rededicate-we can reconfiscate-we
can hollow-your wallet. The brave, liberal, fallen men, some of
whom I see here today, have confiscated it, far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will note, and long remember what we say here today, and they will like us all the better for it. It is for us new liberals, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they, who previously pandered here, have thus far so ignobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us-that from these liberal dead-heads we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of taxation-that we here highly resolve that these dead-heads shall not have taxed in vain-that this nation, under so many quaint, & sometimes bitter customs, shall have a new birth of Hope and Change-and that the government of the people who don't know any better, by the people, like me, who do, for the people who have thus far been unfairly oppressed, shall not remain better & unfairly armed and/or equipped than the rest of the world.

We may indeed, as a nation perish from the earth...but we'll have
a hell of a lot mo' "friends".
