Comment:

so, this is a tape for my diaryland friend, Genn. she's making a Wilco layout for me, and she was curious about Mr.Adams. I have to give a huge thank you to Vanessa Barnes for getting me into Whiskeytown, and to Adam Bristor for providing a big chunk of the Whiskeytown tunes. I hope she likes it, even though the title is redundant and I accidentally put two Whiskeytown tunes in a row. I'm almost done with a Jeff Tweedy mix of the same kind, which is sort of a "Music Is My Savior Volume II" for Genn. anyone who wants a copy of this on CD (during thanksgiving or x-mas, I suspect) let me know!

I would love a copy of this, it looks great! I haven't heard nearly as much Ryan Adams stuff as I would like, but what I have heard, I love.

Excellent job! About the only thing I would add is something from the EPs he released with Jesse Malin under the band name "The Finger". Excellent choices! I would love to get a hold of the Jeff Tweedy mix when you complete it.

okay, i have a theory that ryan adams is indeed the savior. i'm so obsessed with him that it's unfunny. you've managed to encapsulate an amazing career into an amazing tape. i am sorely missing "amy" and "tennessee sucks" on this, though, but i'll forgive you. a great primer.

I agree with you velouria, I too adore "amy" and there were countless others I had wanted to use, but the girl I'm making this tape for hasn't really heard much beyond "new york, new york". if I were to make my own single artist ryan adams mix, it would be quite a bit different from this. :) thanks for the comments guys! and Katy, I'd be happy to make you a copy if you can wait awhile for it. drop me a line if you wanna do a trade.

Very nice indeed. I like that you used those Whiskeytown covers too; I really enjoy them. And "Come Pick Me Up" has to be one of the best songs of the last decade.

ah, this is excellent. too bad " nobody girl" eats up so much time, though, because it's hard to resist putting it on, but then, if you do, you have to leave off something else. but you got "la cienega smiled" and that's close to my fave, so you rock.
