The other volume of Historic Russ, and this one, both date from about 13 years ago, near as I can figure it. What's most interesting to me, apart from seeing how much weed negatively influenced my decisions, is what did and did not stick, in terms of my musical loves. Looking at this mix, I still adore Dylan, and Jefferson Airplane, and Hot Tuna, and Iggy, and the Beatles. I respect Bob Marley, but almost never listen to him ( I prefer Dub to Roots); I never listen to Leon Russell; Arlo Guthrie's okay, but nothing special; I revere Robert hunter as a songwriter, but dude *cannot* sing. Many of these groups are not specifically bad, they just got left behind. I used to adore Shriekback and I have not listened to them in probably ten years. Peter Himmelman? He's Bob Dylan's son-in-law, but apart from that... so what? Huh.
