Comment:
This was made specifically for Jana, as she requested both my Grant Hart and Huskers mixes and I didn't want her to be saddled with duplicate tracks. I still think Grant is the most underrated artist of all-time and that it's absolutely offensive that no one will give him a record deal. (Revised yet again on 11/4/03.) Last track cut: "Standing by the Sea."Feedback:
I, too, always felt more of a connection to Hart's HD contributions than Mould's -- he knew how to bury a great pop nugget under all the noise. I never kept up with his post-Husker work (aside from 2541, which has one of the most unforgettable choruses ever written -- I can summon that tune to mind more readily than anything by the Beatles, and I've only heard it a few times). Still, gotta question your omission of "Books About UFO's," my second favorite Hart-Husker tune (after "Psychic Warfare").
superb. I was a latecomer to the huskers work, but a willing disciple, nonetheless.
I agree with both you and Marc, I preferred Grant to Bob. The Nova Mob stuff is great too, and the Huskers stuff is obviously top notch. I too am curious about "Books About UFO's" not being here, because I recall you saying it's one of your favorites. I can't believe no one will sign him; you've got to think there is some gas left in that tank.
Thanks, fellas. As I indicate in my comments, this mix is designed to be heard in tandem with my Husker Du mix, which features all of my favorite songs by Grant in the Huskers.

See the original "Bluer than the bluest heaven" mix for my definitive Hart comp ("Books About UFOs" is my absolute favorite Grant song).

Fantastic!! I am so glad you put "Sorry Somehow" on, but besides that and a couple others, this will all be new to me.
Great job; I personally always liked Nova Mob more than Husker Du. Rob, I believe I still owe you some mixes (I believe the Trash Can Sinatras)--let me know. I'm so far behind in my trades (due to work etc). However, Internal Medicine Boards are finished (passed, thank God), and I go into the lab next week for two years. I should have more time on my hands to catch up.
