Comment:
As promised, this is the second volume of my Jeff Tweedy collection. (you can find volume I in my profile) I put it onto a tape first, namely to see how long the mix was total, and to see how it would sound together. In the last year and a half I've been into anything and everything Jeff Tweedy, he's quickly become my favorite artist. And I honestly think that everyone should hear his music, because he's influential and I think most everyone would find one song they might enjoy/love. Not a lot of people I know are into him, which stuns me to this day. Anyways, on cd, I'll offer this to any and all of you at AOTM. without many of you, I wouldn't have discovered how amazing Jeff Tweedy really is. I decided to add 'Whiskeybottle' even though Jay Farrar is singing, because it's such a stellar song. it was agonizing to have to cut some of these songs, and I'll probably have to when I make it on CD. *sighs* anywho, let me know if any of you want a copy, and if so, I'll throw in volume I and tweak that around to add some of the songs I had to cut off of here. I hope everyone enjoys it, and if you haven't heard Jeff or heard of him...I highly suggest you check him out. and completely by accident, the last songs on both sides are songs I saw Wilco perform in concert last month. interesting. this mix means a lot to me, and it really did take a lot of time and work. P.S.if you haven't already, I also suggest getting PaloAlto's newest record 'Heroes And Villans'. it's beautiful!
Feedback:
nice
billy bragg + wilco + woody guthrie songs = magic.
The U.Tupelo folk are my heroes. I was born & raised in Belleville, IL, in the same hospital as both Tweedy & Farrar...in a dumb way it makes me feel closer to their music. Oh, and if you haven't checked out Son Volt and/or Jay's solo stuff, do so it's great!
Mike, you were raised in a hospital? I'll second the vote for Son Volt, especially "Trace" which was recorded in my tiny little college town. That's our claim to fame. And we were the first town to successfully chase Jesse James out after a failed bank robbery. Or something. I've never been clear about that, I'm only a temporary resident. Anyhow, this is very nice. And I do prefer Jeff's work with UT to Jay's.
here's to starting with black eye. quality song.
wtf?! nice?! this is fucking brilliant. just ignore my first post ;)
Heh, not raised in a hospital, thankfully. :)
