Comment:

Part one of a two-part mix commissioned by Jen and her organization, LUPEC (Ladies United for the Preservation of Endangered Cocktails), for their "Come as a Witch" Halloween party this past Friday. Sorry for the lame title, but I honestly had no other ideas for it. The objective of these two mixes was to stop party conversation as often as possible (which would be even better, since I chose not to attend).

Great stuff! If I were at a party chatting away and i heard Nick Cave shriek "Hands up, who wants to die!!?!!" I think my party conversation would be halted. And that pink Floyd cut had to just confuse the shit out of people. In college i made a tape called "the Party's Over" that started "Scraping Foetus Off The Wheel" and progressiviely got more noisy, dissonant, and off-putting until ending with Lionel Richie - by whcih time there were only a few left and Mr Richie sent them right out the door. And nice use of the Stooges box.

Ha! I like the idea for the mix, and suspect that this will accomplish its goal. Very cool.

Magazine wot a great band they were. Tricky's vent is scary and believe it or not I have been at a party where Nick Cave shouted Hands up who wants to Die....Great stuff.

I put Permafrost on a tape I gave someone for his birthday... I didn't think he'd play it at his party though! What a nice sociable song.

That Floyd track is just about one of the scariest things I've ever heard.

Really good (and scary) stuff on both mixes. Wish I could be a fly on the wall to see the guest's reactions to this. I'm a bit disappointed that you didn't use the Ministry song that the title is presumably based on. I know it ain't at that scary, but it's always been a guilty pleasure!
