Comment:

On the eve of the release of R.E.M.'s greatest hits album, I thought I'd make my own. I tried to span the band's entire career, though I couldn't help but include all three of my favourite Reckoning songs, even if it meant no "Radio Free Europe" or "Stand." And...I had to put "Half A World Away" on it, as it's my favourite R.E.M. song.

The name of this album is in tribute to a great song that didn't make the final cut.

Ah, the mighty REM. Great mix. I also feel reckoning is their best album. Although it's overplayed, I still think It's The End Of The World... is my favourite song by them. So Central Rain = classic! I also love Radio Free Europe. Anyways, this is wonderful!

Thank you. Hmmm...maybe I'll squeeze in a nice live version of "Radio Free Europe" as a hidden track, although something tells me I won't have enough room at the end. Darr.

Nice. My fave REM period ends with the move from I.R.S. - typical rock snob opinion, I know. I really love their cover of "Femme Fatale", a song that I still have the BOB flexi-disc of! This band meant a lot to me then. Great live act, too. I think I saw them on nearly every 80s tour.

Have always loved everything they've done but especially the 80's stuff. OK, the early 90's stuff too. First time I saw them they were opening for the English Beat in the Buffalo State gym probably early 83. Great collection.
