This mix is the soundtrack of this time, this space right after the Daylight Savings switch, in the fall. It's cold and dark all the time, and I just saw Lost in Translation and like it a lot. Sometimes it's hard to remember that we're all just people. ... I don't really LIKE all the songs on this CD - they just feel good for right now. Like Lambchop. I like his style, but there's only one line of his that I've heard that actually floors me, and it's not in this song. And the Dave Matthews song is a new one, off his solo album. I don't really find myself fond of it, really, but the sound is good. And I'm not really into Hot Hot Heat because they just seem like dance-rock & like there's not a lot of soul up in there. My point is though that sometimes the superficial carries heavy meaning when you're in a movie. When things feel like a movie. For this disc, also look to Ani DiFranco's "Evolve" cd. It's much sadder than this mix, but this mix makes me kind of wet-eyed too. All this noise.
