Comment:
All Scottish bands, 2 songs from each, for a friend. I would've put more bands on but I couldn't really think of that many others. I suppose I could've put on the BMX Bandits...please don't suggest Travis because I hate them.Feedback:
AC/DC are of Scottish Origin, as are Orange Juice, Waterboys, Altered Images, Jackie Leven (Doll by Doll)...good mix though!
fabulous
Gun man, Gun would've been great on here. + I must curse you for the inclusion of that perpetually annoying Proclaimers song. However, the rest is looking pretty good. Nice work. Out.
Arab Strap, Boards of Canada, John Martyn, the Blue Nile...
Cosmic Rough Riders..!
Thanks for all the suggestions. Unfortunately the mix is already done. The Proclaimers song is only as annoying as every other I-IV-V song on the planet. Oh, and AC/DC are Australian, they emigrated to Scotland when Angus & Malcolm were in their late teens.
Let's not forget to add Trashcan Sinatras to the list...nice concept, BTW.
YAY! This is excellent - special props for the Idlewild picks. Am working on something similar for a friend so if it appears here, please don't think I ripped your idea off. Also! The Jesus And Mary Chain, Primal Scream (kind of), Ballboy, Biffy Clyro, Mull Historical Society, The Beta Band, The Delagados, The Soup Dragons and The Reindeer Section could all be added to the list. And Snow Patrol, as far as I know, are based in Glasgow, although are from Northern Ireland. I think. :)
...Re: AC/DC Angus Young b.31 Mar '59 Glasgow..Malcolm Young b.6 Jan '53 Glasgow..Bon Scott b.9 july '46 Kirriemuir..to me that makes 'em Scottish..and when I lived out in Australia, it gave me great pleasure in tellin the aussies that!!
Yeah, but the Young brothers spent their formative years in Australia...plus isn't Brian Johnson English anyway? And I'm pretty sure Bon Scott was born & raised in Australia.
....true, their formative years were spent in OZ..yes Brian Jo is English...Bon born Kirriemuir according to M.C.Strong in 'Great Rock Discography'...he might be wrong...shall we say AC/DC has Scottish Roots..
