Comment:
Recent mention by Mr. Bowie in the latest Vanity Fair as well as the Bulls' activation of their own Linton Johnson had me going back to enjoy the master of dub-poetry. I decided not to use anything off the highly recommended dub & live LPs. Also, it appears that after ten years of silence a disc was released in '99. The references to experiments in D&B likely will not have me running out for that one.Feedback:
I want this. Please send this immediately.
excellent stuff! When we next trade, I'd love this
LOVELY!
Wow! Haven't listened to LKJ fr'ages. Nice memories.
what ? did i comment on this one , this is great stuff and the only not jamaican (maybe Steel pulse too) who can do awesome reggae
Killer mix. I've been think a lot about LKJ ever since seeing the Rob's Gil Scott Heron mix - for someone reason one always makes me think of the other. Maybe it's because I discovered them both around the same time and neither were like anything else I was listening to. This is just fabulous - even though you didn't include my fave cut, "Di Eagle an' Di bear" off of "Making History".
What Gary said. ;)
LKJ came to my university once to read some stuff and discuss poetry. Dapper fellow he was.
I love (!!!) Linton Kwesi Johnson. All of it. "Sonny's Lettah..." left a mark on me I still retain. Between the two LPs: "Forces Of Victory" and "Making History" I'd have been hard-pressed to leave off anything..., and the dub versions are just as popular in my head, too! Hail the Dub Poet !
