Comment:
..Of course the Holocaust began before 1939 but the dates given are to avoid confusion regarding Nuclear Holocaust etc..not all songs are specific to The Holocaust...some are traditional Jewish songs...and others like Bowie, Joy Divison and This Mortal Coil convey both horror and sadness. One omission is Belsen woz a Gasser by The Sex Pistols which I deemed innapropiate...Holocaust by Big Star does not relate.Feedback:
Huh. Very interesting. I know the Big Star one isn't about the Holocaust at all, but it sure is a great song. And Neutral Milk Hotel really didn't address it directly enough, I suppose. A very interesting idea though, and some great songs.
interesting theme - well done!
What Adam said at the end of his post.
Hmm, big shiver. Quite the opposite to yr Buffy mixes in theme, but just as rigorously followed through.
masterfully done
check out "Never Again" by Remedy, another powerful song about the same topic. heavy stuff. well done.
Excellent work. The interstitial songs are all perfect choices. If you want to trade, let me know. I can make CD versions of my mixes, too (shorter of course).
Wow.
This is quite touching. I should've known that a mix affiliated with the Holocaust would have Joy Division on it.
tremendous idea about perhaps the worst period in the history of mankind
Very interesting, but,as you say, not exactly a toe-tapper.
