Comment:

The newest "for the hell of it" mix. The strange thing about this one was the agonizing decision that I faced in the revision stage: after initially cutting that Jeff Buckley track from consideration (I think the song was in a movie that I saw recently and thus was in my head, so I grabbed it from Jen's CD shelf) in favor of two much better songs--John Cale's "Hanky Panky Nohow" and the Faces' "Cindy Incidentally", both of which were in different positions than the Buckley track--I had to reinstate it because it just fit its spot so perfectly... oh well. Look for those other two songs next time. Thanks to Mr. Bristor for the Ryan Adams song ("Wish You Were Here" from the new album was originally slated for this mix), to lo-fi (way back when) for the Spacemen song, and to my pal Rich for the Marc Almond cover of the phenomenal Brel song. Title courtesy of Mr. Adams.

Really excellent, as always, Rob. The stretch from Aphex Twin->Black Crowes looks especially good. I'd love to have a copy of this one at some point in the near future. Good stuff.

I love that Ryan Adams pick. "But I was being dumb" is just a great conclusion for that type of song. I like Wyatt and Mingus too. Heck, there's a lot of good stuff here.

I like the Shins "So Says I", and Jeff Buckley's "Lilac Wine" is a great song. If you still think about taking it out, you could consider putting in Nina Simone's version instead.

Great Mingus opener plus I dig the Wyatt & Aphex signal changers. Happy to have just learned that Crosby's first (& best) LP is getting the remaster treatment.

Looks like a "hell" of a good mix. So that's where Death Cab for Cutie got their name.

Amazing collection. Mingus to Cloud Nine to Yoko... on and on, the bonzos

Actually, Ion, I think Death Cab For Cutie was a song in "Magical Mystery Tour" (which the Bonzos *were* in).

Right, but the Bonzos perform that particular song in the movie, so I think Ion is right enough...
