This one as you can see from the title is what I've been listening to while exploring the back streets of Melbourne town. Not much thought in content or order, though it appears to have plenty of Soul/Funk/Blues/Garage/Punk and in some sort of alphabetical order (this doesn't matter too much as I play it on shuffle - does that go against the ethos of Mix Tapes?)
Andre Williams is the shit and I'm just kicking myself for not going to see him when he was in town about 5 years ago - please forgive me Andre come back!! This track of Andre's cracks me up all the time. If it stinks it must be good and he gives two very good examples of this phenomenon.
Don't know much about Bill Withers but this has to be the standout track for me on this walkin' comp. What's that he says before going into the chorus? Dadgummit?
Michael Yonkers is a new amazing discover for me. He reminds me of some others from that era such as The Monks, Silver Apples & Red Crayola. The words are kinda hippy (it was recorded in '68 after all) but that sonic outburst at the end is so Sonic Youth before Sonic Youth. I also enjoy the click in and click out of the actual effects device he apparently built himself. Yonk on!

Stuck in the Garage by The Dirtbombs sounds like it's recorded in the Garage (probably Jim Diamond's studio) but if you're going to play garage you can't go `round sounding a million $. Nice ending by the way.
