Comment:
a collection of songs from various cds of old taiwanese and chinese singers i've picked up in the last year or so. song title translations and romanization of names were done fairly quickly, so may not be completely correct. track 12 came from a cd that was a freebie with a product one of my roomates bought. i've misplaced the cd so i don't know the name of the song, but even on that cd, they didn't know the name of the band.
Feedback:
I would love to do a trade some time if you fancy it; let me know! Jonny
Those titles look great. Any Mandarin, Japanese, Cantonese etc translated into English always has this weird poetry. See every kung fu film ever.
Looks great! Would you be interested in a trade?
very nice...you should set up a trade with Junior D...he'd love this !
yes, i'm interested in trades if they are on cdr, not much for tapes any longer. just contact me via email and we can work out the details.
Extraordinary!
Looks exotic. How old is old? 70s? 30s?
yue liang dai biao wo de xing right? love that song so so so much...
the songs range from the 1940s(possibly earlier) up until the mid 1970s.
oh, and according to the cd it comes from, the moon tells my love is not the same as yue liang dai biao wo de xing. that's a different song.

I have no idea what these sound like, but I wish I did. Looks very very intriguing.
you are my favorite new aotm-er. ;)
Looks really cool ... reminds me of those 2 CDs you once sent me ... i;d love to have a copy, with that nice cover some day ... greetings from Fiji !!!
no teresa teng?
i've put teresea teng on comps before(none listed at aotm though). but she didn't quite make it onto this comp. as it's mainly stuff i've picked up recently, and i haven't picked any of her stuff up lately.
caipirinha, this comp is similiar to some of the things on those other comps.
menghsindy - thanks! :)
joey, if you've seen any old chinese movies or movies that are supposed to take place in china in the 40s-60s these sound sort of like that. some are a little jazzy, some are a little on the torch singer side.

God, this is awesome! I can't believe I had the CD in a pile for over a year and just forgot about it. What I schmuck I've been!
well, it does have your favourite, bai guang, on it. glad you dug it when you finally got around to listening to it. :)
Hey William. I came back on this site because they made it work again! This mix is tremendous, as I think I mentioned to you when you first sent it. I was wondering if you could tell me what the original Chinese name for 'flushing face smiling heart' was - I like this track enough that I'm thinking of trying to track down a vinyl copy. No problem if it's just to hand but I thought you might know. Hope you're well...
