Comment:

Yes. It's the Frankstein Mix list. I've been lurking at this site for a couple of months now & this inspired me to get a group of friends together and create a mix of the month club. This was our first exchange. So, I must thank you guys for a fabulous idea! the ABCs of Rock is actually volume 2.

1. A song from the last record you bought: Curbside Prophet - Jason Mraz. Seems wise for one so young & male.
2. A blues: not necessarily a blues record but a song that is labeled (something) blues:
The Yodel Blues - Riders in the Sky. My Honey ordered this from the library last week. Way too perfect to pass up.
3. A song that gets you going in the morning: Stacked Actors - Foo Fighters. Almost as good as coffee.
4. A song that you think is romantic: Maybe I'm Amazed - Paul McCartney. This song was played as part of the processional at my wedding.
5. One of the earliest records that you can remember listening to: Brown Sugar - Rolling Stones. I grew up in a Motown & Stones household. I need to get some O'Jays.
6. A song that you discovered from a film: Jackie Wilson Said - Van Morrison. I don't how I missed one before I saw the movie, but it part of the fabulous Queen's Logic soundtrack.
7. A song from your favourite band / artist: Don't Let's Start - They Might Be Giants. I saw this video in the afternoon on Mtv (when they actually played videos) and IMMEDIATELY went out and bought the record.
8. Hope That I Get Old Before I Die - They Might Be Giants. HOW can I pick just one, I ask you?! Count yourself lucky there isn't a third one, cause I had the room for it!
9. A song from an artist band that you otherwise don't like, but like this one: Beautiful - Christina Aguilera. This one makes me tear up.
10. A Lullaby: Good Night - Beatles. I almost chose I Will by the Beatles instead. Decisions, decisions.
11. A song that makes you laugh / you find funny: Trash Day - Weird Al Yankovic. One his better parodies, it had us rolling the first time we heard it.
12. A really good cover version: Hurt - Johnny Cash. He is my new infatuation. He deserved every bit of buzz this song created.
13. A song that reminds you of school days: Add it Up - Violent Femmes. Every single party I went to in High School played this album. Must be sung at the top of your lungs.
14. A song from an artist that you are embarrassed to admit you like: Waterloo - ABBA. Excellent musicianship, but the lyrics are just soooooooooo damn cheesy.
15. Whatever it is, it's got to be funky: Tear The Roof Off The Sucker - Parliament. The KINGS of FUNK, bow before them.
16. A song for those quiet rainy days: Good Souls - Starsailor. Hopeful, cheerful song for a grey day. Even if I LOVE grey days.
17. A song that no matter when you hear it makes you 'Feelgood': Start The Commotion - Wiseguys. I can't help but groove to happiness when I hear this song.
18. A song with the word 'Look' in the title: Ok, I confess, Our Blues Traveler CD has disappeared. But this is what I intended for here.
19. From a member of the `Dead rockers society': Alabama Song (Whiskey Bar) - The Doors. I think of Morrison first when I hear "dead rocker". This is a brilliant song.
20. Your favourite Elvis song: Can't Help Falling in Love - Elvis Presley. Hearing this song, I understand the fuss.
21. Wild card: Lovely Day - Bill Withers. My other new purchase. I like to end mixes on a high note.
