Comment:
Mostly jazz from the 30's & 40's, but some later stuff. A CD for my daughter who just learned a simple boogie woogie in her piano lessons. The 2 major boogie woogie pianists - Albert Ammons & Pete Johnson are here a couple of times. The New Orleans tunes are argueably not really boogie woogie, but I just love Prof. Longhair too much not to include some. The title comes from a Huey Piano Smith song that is not included here. The cover (to come) is stolen from another CD that Cleo Brown comes from & revised slightly.
Feedback:
great idea, get the young into that great old music and let them hear how good it was (and still is).
Very cool!
Oh yeah! Great collection, with many faves and tons I haven't heard - the best kind of mix, I think.
Very nice.
Geez! Very nice!
