Comment:

it was kinda silly for me to make this because i only own the first four albums these days. i used to have the rest of them too but they just simply aren't very good. still, 'crocodiles' and 'ocean rain' are in my books concidered as masterpieces and 'heaven up here' and 'porcupine' are fine enough. all the live tracks were taken from the incredible 'live rotterdam '83' bootleg. my favourite echo track is naturally 'the killing moon'. i heard that song for the first time 6 years ago and it's still almost as fresh. title is a line from 'with a hip'.

I hate seeing them lumped in with some of the lesser 80's synth bands (i.e. Depeche Mode); definitely an underrated band. Though I have the box set and that're pretty much all the Echo I need. Saw 'em live once, opening for New Order; remember them being quite good, though maybe just in comparison to New Order, who put on a terrible show (or at least one ill-served by the sound system).

Porcupine is my favorite, followed by Crocodiles, Ocean Rain and Heaven Up Here. I did a mix ("Not just another drop in the ocean") just like this about a year ago... let me know what you think.

yeah, i'm planning to get that box set, although the only killing moon in that box seems to be the weird 9-minute remix *shivers*

Wonderful. I lost interest after the fourth album as well. But those four albums still hold-up for me and "The Cutter" remains one of my favorite shout-along songs.

They may be the best live show I've ever seen. I never danced so madly (to "Over the Wall" especially) in my life. I think I may have scared people. And any "Do it Clean" medley just goes to prove that it's one of the best ever live songs performed by any band.
