And what about all those summers gone by, the innocent times of sock hops, malt shops, crew cuts, and hot rods? If you wanna hear some sweet sounds from the days of tailfins and teen angels, check out our Deep Cuts. We kick off with the King — no, not Elvis, but Nat "King" Cole — whose bourbon-over-velvet baritone rolls out "Those Lazy, Hazy, Crazy Days of Summer." Everybody's favorite pre-Britney Mousketeer, Annette Funicello, twists the night away while a sax honks out 32 bars of pure seaside satisfaction in "Beach Party." And while the saddest part of summer is that it has to end, the Happenings take a little of the sting out of the season's close with their honey-sweetened harmonies in "See You In September."
