Comment:

Where was I going with this? Yeah, I don't know either. I felt like making a "classic hits" type mix, without the hits, you know. You just don't hear any of this stuff on the radio anymore...commercial radio just picks some artists and plays the same three songs by them...take Simon & Garfunkel for example. The only three songs I hear by them on the radio are Mrs. Robinson, The Boxer and The Sounds of Silence. What about the rest of their amazing catalogue? Same with the Beatles, the Who and Dire Straits. And I'm on a rant now, and I should stop. This is basically random, some pop, some rock, some other stuff, who knows. Enjoy.

You tell em.

On the Who bit, I think that it's their earlier stuff that people forget about. I hate to say it, but A Quick One and The Who Sell Out are fresher than Tommy and Quadrophenia.

Good job digging the Grass Roots out... lot of amazing songs in their catalog too. Especially A Mil Years

faultless. I used to love the Dire Straits pick when I was younger, and have a hankerin' for it now, after seeing it here.

God I'd all but forgotten about Be Bop Deluxe; I'm off to listen to Bill Nelsen's "Do You Dream in Colour."

Love the Guess who. Nice little rant on the whole. Commercial radio DOES suck in it's repetitiveness, though I am a fan of mainstream music, so I can't really fault them for that. It's easy to piss over the edge when you're too high up to see what it lands on. Out.

Agreed, Dru, I like most mainstream music as well. I can't say that I dislike any song by Dire Straits, the Who, the Beatles, the Guess Who, whoever, just because it is overplayed. It's just a shame that they playlists on commercial radio are so limited. There were zillions of songs that came out of the 60's 70's and 80's...to limit it to just a select few songs by some artists seems wrong. Oh well. Thanks for the comments everyone!

Such a great mix! I love all of these. And I can't really add too much to your comments and the others posted, but I agree wholeheartedly!
