Comment:

Another day, another random tribute album. Tried to avoid some of the most obvious choices, with mixed success, going more for a more well-rounded mix rather than necessarily the best (or best-known) cover versions out there. Far less interesting than, say, my Velvets, Big Star, and Neil Young tributes, but much more interesting overall than the Bowie and Beatles tributes. And that, alas, pretty much wraps it up -- plenty of stray Stones, Gram Parsons, and other covers in the ol' collection, but no other artist with enough to fill an entire disc.

Really nice work as always. I've never really been able to get past Dylan's nasally voice, so perhaps a collection of covers would do the trick. Hole do a good cover of Baby Blue as well, even though I've never really been a fan of that band.

Very awesome! A teenage fanclub version of Mr. Tambourine Man? I must check that out! Turtles choice is a personal favorite.

Tribute must be paid . . . & this does the job. (Songwriters are allowed to perform their own songs, of course, but then it's time to turn them over to singers.) A good mix, as they say.
