Comment:

Thanks to Gary (Muzag) for the suggestions.
[1] A track that annoys animals (I've personally witnessed the annoyance of several species of small furry animals as well as humans while enjoying this track.)

[2] A track with French connections

[3] A track that is visual as much as it is musical (Listening to this once on a road trip prompted a lengthy discussion about a possible film adaptation. Haven't been able to listen to it without visualizing a storyboard ever since.)

[4] A track by an artist you regard as underappreciated

[5] A track that should be used in an advert (Promoting Idaho's finest, of course.)

[6] A track that mentions a colour in the title

[7] A track from a favourite instrumentalist

[8] A track that's a guilty pleasure but that you don't feel guilty about at all

[9] A track predominantly featuring someone named Philip, George, Arthur or Keith (That'd be the mad genius of Arthur Brown.)

[10] A track by a classical composer/artist who you'd like more people to listen

[11] A track from the oldest album in your collection (Written ca. 1340.)

[12] A track you like that was introduced to you by a friend with normally appalling musical taste (Turned on after hearing This Mortal Coil's cover. This friend's tastes are actually not completely appalling, but I generally question anyone who routinely buys Sting CDs.)

[13] A track featuring only the artist and his/her instrument

[14] A track to make people stop talking and start listening

[15] A track that is amongst the quietest that you own (whilst not being entirely silent)

[16] A track that reminds you of a specific moment in your childhood (First time I heard this I was in the car with my parents who, at the ripe old age of 25 were outraged by the "we got high" line.)

[17] A track that is religious

[18] A track that mentions a meteorological phenomena in the title

[19] A track in a musical style that you don't normally like but do like in this case (reminds me of a time when describing something as a hip hop hybrid wasn't absolutely cringe inducing.)

[20] A track you think/know your grandparents would like

This does look great. That version of the Dylan tune is amazing, and you have to love the Buckley and Small Faces picks. Very cool.

Wow, this looks excellent, indeed. I'd love to hear this some time. I've been pondering this as well, and my version will come to this theater soon ...

This looks fantastic Jim. Nice picks for 10 and 17 especially. May have to give this theme a shot sometime.

Great stuff. I, too, have been pondering my choices for these, but am hung up on the classical pick...

Wow, looks truly excellent, Jim. I guess I should've put one of my own out by now but my Christmas didn't turn the period of musical contemplation I'd anticipated. And since getting back everything has been busy-busy.Anyways, there is one on the way. Meanwhile, this is great, love your 3, 5, 10, 11 & 17 picks - good to see some liberal category interpretation - and your comment for 16.Yes, some of the categories are tricky:1 if you have no pets,12 if you've dumped all your friends with bad taste,16 might not exist, and 19 is a bit awkward.Nice one!
