Comment:
I hesitated posting this since there's not a whole lotta "art" to this mix. However if, like me, you wished that the last issue of MOJO actually contained Jon Savage's post-punk mix tape then this is for you. A few changes were made to taste & what was available from my not insubstantial vaults. The Devo track is from a '77 show at Max's Kansas City & the Joy Division track is from their mighty Amsterdam gig. My choices for the MOJO contest question as to what was missing are tracks 2, 12, 13 & 14 with the Fire Engines' being my final pick over all.Feedback:
Fantastic. Speaking as a boy with perpetual nervousness, drugs these days are a question of degrees of nicotaine stains...um, yeah, fantastic.
I like it. I really, really like it. Yes, like it I do.
yup, fantastic.
I was supposed do to a sequel to that Mojo list myself, but you did it first Jim, nice stuff anyway, another funny thing about that last issue of mojo is I recieved it 3 days after I made my 77 mix on this site and Mojo had an article of several of the tracks on my mix, that's pretty cool I think, BTW do you got that Screamers track ?
YAY! I totally devoured that issue of Mojo - the ultimate post-punk mix tape was partly what inspired me to do mine too (if you want to check it out.) Especially love the Joy Division, Orange Juice and Throbbing Gristle. All hail post-punk.
another nice collection, Jim.
Fuckin' GREAT.
