Comment:
I'm grateful for the CD reissue of "Get Happy" (one of my favorite Costello albums), but my worn vinyl version had a skip after the second chorus of "Riot Act" that I anticipate whenever I hear the pristine version. I miss the skip.Feedback:
Say...I know a little bit of something about 5 of these artists...and a whole lot of nuthin' 'bout the rest !
But burns burnt it, bucko...so it must be the best !

I should probably look in to copywriting my typical Curtis comment: "The parts of this I know look absolutely amazing."
Bloody great mix! That's my favorite Elvis record as well...
Excellent stuff, as usual. Love the Oneida, YMG & Schnauss (he seems to have struck a quite responsive chord in you Americans since he's cropping up all over the place while remaining a relatively obscure artiste in his homeland, i.e. here).- And it's always great to see the Dead C on a mix - curiously, I only ever see 'em on yours . . . ;-)
i love your vu, circle, ymg, sy and mojave 3 picks. nice one.
exactly what g.a.b. labs says!
Thomas: While I can't speak for all Americans, I can speak for all New Jerseyites in saying we like the Schnauss for the received wisdom of it's pedestrian beats and the way the MBV-isms tip it towards treacle. I listened to it again this morning on a Sunday morning drive in the brilliant winter sun and it just works.
I count 7 artists whom I'm familiar with..La Lupe is a big fave of mine esp Fever!
Get Happy! and this mix are terrific CDs!
I meant to comment on this last night, but got caught up with the hijinks of one of my brood around here. That's been the main reason I've had a lower profile around here the last couple of months. There's ALWAYS something going on. ;-)
Anyways, this looks really great. I love the SY and Velvets picks (among others) and that Oneida->Comets On Fire looks like a mind blower. Great stuff.

Well, I love the four tracks that I know--Young Marble Giants, Elvis, Sonic Youth and the Velvet Underground. I'm going to assume that the rest is just as good.
By the time I was down to "Baby's On Fire", I was dancin' ...
As with most of your mixes, I know and love half and the other half just confuses me because I don't even know where it's coming from. But if it can comfortably sit along side Oneida, Velvets, YMG, and Mojave 3 it's gotta be worth hearing! And I know where you're coming from on the skip - I can only listen to "Draggin' the Line" off of an old 45 that has a thick surface noise throughout the ENTIRE track. The CD version just sounds cold and lifeless.
