questions: "do the artists have to remain in this order?" and "can i use artists that aren't listed but fit into the same genre/style as the bands listed above?"....

the contest is as such: you may use any number of the above artists, in any order. i would like to see as many of these bands as possible though. if you throw in one or two other bands, that's alright too, but i'm not guaranteeing results as far as points.

Question: Can we use sub-groups of these artists? For example, would the Velvet Underground be allowed, since Lou Reed was in the band?

I'm also curious if we can use covers of these artists. Obviously them covering someone else is fine, but what about someone else covering them? Clem Snide's cover of "I'll Be Your Mirror" comes to mind...

do it. covers are acceptable, if you credit the original. subgroups are awesome too, just be sure to list the members & bands for filing purposes. and as for the deadline: there really isn't one, but i'd like the entries to be in by march. and of course, everyone will get a prize.

there isn't really any deadline, i'd like this all to be finished by march, maybe. everyone who participates will get a button, and maybe something else. the grand prize winner will get the best gift ever. i've already received one mix from frank k. i must say, this contest is going to be tough. if anyone wants any of the resulting tapes, they can feel free to email me and i'll do my best to get them a copy. but yes, as for the other question, you can use any number of the artists listed. happy mixing!

Wow, I only listen to 6 artists you've mentioned. Fortunately, two are GYBE and Sigur Ros, which'll eat up some space on the mix. You ought to list Sleater-Kinney, though, since PGMG are their electro-clash/femo tribute band haha. btw, are you looking for CDs or tapes?
