Comment:

This mix was kicked into gear by Falstaff's recent posting. Garage/psych/pop sounds.

IT'S A REAL BOSS HOSS! Always happy to be a bad influence. I'd like to hear this without looking at the track listing & try to distinguish real 60s from faux-60s sounds.

Ah! I see that now. I also noticed the Vertebrats tune. Easily in my top 10 for greatest songs ever written. I once saw The Replacements, very reverentialy, cover it. A forgotten classic for the Pebbles 2000 LP.

For those "Mats" fans who missed this moment, try to obtain the release "The Shit hits The Fans" for this cover of the Vertebrats or check out the Screaming Tribesman who also did a versionof those Champaign, Ill. kids.

Hey there:

thought you might be interested in an article about Left in the Dark, just released last week (March, 2003).

Go to www.robertloerzel.com and hit "clips". It's at the top of the next page, a nice piece about the history of the song and those who have covered it.

Cover versions of the song will be on the re-release of Uncle Tupelo's No Depression, and Courtney Love has recorded it and will likely put it on single or CD once she gets a new contract.
