I should know better, but I'm a sucker for a good early 80's new wave mix. The Heaven 17 is one of my all time faves. I can vividly remember watching MTV, MV3, the assorted video "programs" on UHF stations waiting for many of these videos. Nice job.
Echo & The Bmen are one of my all time fave groups...Siouxsie woz my first sexual fantasy (sorry Cher) and The Furs could have been a great band !Good Job in what woz an atrocious decade!
Some of these songs are mere echos from somewhere deep in my cerebellum...The Berlin tune, oh man, that song couldn't have had better timing with my...ummmm...well...coming of age. I actually wrote a wonderfully pathetic crush-letter to Terri Nunn of Berlin-- I received a semi-skanky auto'd picture of her that I kept in a secret drawer for months. Hmmmm...perhaps I shared too much. Nice mix NoV, as always--makes me want to dust off some old cassettes. :-)
I still use Heaven 17 in my DJ sets..good stuff.

Wow! Haven't thought of Blancmange in a looooong time! (I had 'em on one of those English LP-sized magazines, full of articles and interviews, with an LP inside...damned if I know what the name of it is and it's down in the lab' and I'm too lazy to run and look....also had Belouis Some, etc.....)I like the Fixx...

Cool. You've become quite the prolific mixer. I remember the magazine/LP that Valis recalls, but I can't think of the name either. I do remember the 90s Volume series in the UK, which was sort of an updated version
Amazing job for a period of music that wasn't one of my faves. Always love the B-52's of course, and really like those cuts by Pete Shelley, Echo, the Furs, and Heaven 17. And that Peter Schilling tune always struck a fancy for me, too. Sweet!
