Comment:
This is a selection of soul songs from the 1960s, mostlyfrom either Motown or Memphis. (The Formations were from Philly.)
This was the peak
creative period of soul music.
By the 1970s, this branch of musical
thought had evolved (or degenerated, depending on your
point of view) into funk.
Frank Wilson, not to be confused with J. Frank Wilson, recorded
"Do I Love You (Indeed I Do)" on Soul, a subsidiary label of Motown.
It sat unreleased for decades until it got discovered in a
warehouse, and became a belated hit on the
Northern Soul scene.
Prices of the original 7 inch 45 RPM pressing, of which only
2 copies are known to exist, got bid up and up to the point
where one changed hands for UKú 15,000 (US$ 23,000). [The song is
available at normal prices on CD.]

Hey Ed - how are ya? THis looks very good! I've always loved the JJJackson. Whenever I get some new stuff done I'll want to trade for this one.
This is a superb mix. FRANK WILSON - Do I love You (Indeed I Do) is my all time favourite Northern Soul record. I am new to AOTM and my very first submission has FRANK WILSON on it. As I delved deeper I discovered this mix. I realise now that the craft of making compilation tapes/mixes is alive and well. It cheers me up just looking at this track listing. Keep mixing Mixxer. I'm lovin' it.
