Comment:
As usual it started out one way & took off somewhere else. There will be more since I left out so many I wanted to include.Comments:
Los Amigos Invisibles - Venezuela (2 wonderfully funky CDs on Luaka Bop)
Bebeto - Brazil (lots more funky Brazilian stuff to include next time)
Khaled - Algeria
Bokoor Band - Ghana (need to double check that)
Tony Allen - Fela's original drummer who was instrumental in created Afrobeat
Kinky - Mexico
Pinto & Cortez - they did the music for the Brazilian movie City of God which is up for some Oscars
Molotov - Mexico [NOTE: X-rated song - I usually don't put anything quite so explicit in my mixes, but it has such a great beat/sound I couldn't resist)
Kad Achouri - Algeria/France
Bloque - Colombia (one of the best albums from a couple of years back - I've seen it cheap lots of places, if you see it check it out - great live too)
Everybody else is from the US
Feedback:
Best mix I've seen in awhile, this would keep the party jumpin
Very nice work here. Musta been drinking caipirinhas to get in the mood!
great stuff. To answer your question Lafeyette afro rock is as good a syour heard they also go by name ICE. You sohould check out the label Vampi Soul. Lots of great latino beats and reissues
this looks tremendous! would love a copy if you're up for a trade.
What an interesting association for "Hey Ya." City of God...man, that movie is great, and oh so tragic. Anyway, your mix is bangin. Especially love the Cymande and Tony Allen tracks.
