Comment:

We're going to jump ahead to 1975 for this one; partly b/c the boys were damned tired after making & touring in support of "This is not an apple...," but also mostly just b/c I can.
John released Walls & Bridges at the end of '74. It was made during his Lost Weekend period. Now if you remember, I started out this little journey w/the premise that John had dumped Yoko. This raises a problem - if he had dumped her back in 1970, how in the hell is he having a lost weekend? From whom is he lost? Nico, that's who. John met her in the Village late in 1970 & has been going out w/her since.
Paul released Venus & Mars in the spring of 1975, and there are some good songs on there, but it is kind of a let-down from BotR. Macca's tired of running too, so decides to spend a few weeks w/Lennon in LA. They get loaded, call up George & Ringo & make this album.
In '74 George released Dark Horse & in '75, Extra Texture. Ringo released Goodnight Vienna in November of 1974.
John's buddy Elton John also appears on this album, playing & singing on Whatever Gets You Through the Night; contributing & performing on Snookaroo.
Singles: 1. You b/w No No Song (becomes a double-sided top ten hit); 2. Whatever Gets You Through the Night b/w Venus & Mars; 3. Listen to What the Man Said b/w Going Down on Love; 4. #9 Dream b/w Old Dirt Road; 5. Rock Show b/w Back Off Boogaloo.
Cover is the Capitol Records Building in LA - the boys considered this their American Abbey Road album.

Lennon & Nico? Again, formidable imagination you've got there!!
(I love Walls & Bridges, esp. Old Dirt Road.)
In the spirit of suggesta-fying - am I annoying you yet - I'd rather see Call Me Back Again, Letting Go, Scared, and Bless You than the Ringo selections or Listen To What The Man Said.
