Comment:
This started out as a CD (not even a mix) for a friend who'd asked me to slap Day One's ,Bedroom Dancing" and The Twang's countrified version of the Bee Gees' ,Stayin' Alive" on disc for him along with some assorted oddities of my choice. Since he's quite a fan of French and Italian trash from the 60s & 70s, I remembered that a while ago, I'd toyed (sic!) with the idea of making a mix exclusively consisting of songs that had wimmin moanin' & groanin' on `em - with Donna Summer's full-length 17-min version of ,Love to Love You Baby" as the piFce de rTsistance, as it were. Although I quickly discarded this notion for pretty obvious reasons (sexist AND boring), I thought THIS might be an opportunity to use some of the obscure and hilarious porno soundtracks etc. I had. So that's how the sex ,theme" evolved.Another mix idea I had was to make a CD with loads of spoken-word bits on it, connecting the tracks plus (hopefully) telling a story. While that, too, for various reasons, didn't come to pass, I thought about a few combinations of songs that imho had worked rather fine, AND I remembered some lovely stuff I had received from various AotMers that I felt went quite well with the tracks I had already chosen. So, basically, this is the result of crossing the two mix ideas with some totally unrelated stuff thrown in for good measure. Whilst, originally, I didn't intend to post this at all, it turned out to be so much fun I thought some you might enjoy it as well. So here eet ees.
Special thanks go out to Gary Kong (tracks 5, 9 & 16), Ion Moe (18, 25 & 27), Jeff House (24) and, of course, to the honorable Sir Jeffrey Jefferson for the most generous zombiefication.
P.S.: After giving it one more listen and a bit o' thought, I threw out the Peter, Paul & Mary song (which had to be edited down anyway since I took from a DJ-style segued mix CD) for the benefit of something a little bit more, uhm, theme-related. In the process, the whole thing got a trifle too long, so I unfortunately had to lose the Andy Partridge track that originally brought this disc to a conclusion . . .

Feedback:
Can't say I know all that's going on here but it leaves me breathless! Nice one, Thomas.
Hot, hot, hot! Lovely Shadow, Fodder, Scott and Dr. Seuss picks. And, uhm, Peter, Paul and Mary. This mix really does it for me Thomas. Pardon me while I get a tissue...
This looks really good and a great concept. Cool, I mean hot, cover too.
XXX!
Looks like a tasty little sucker. En avant la zizique! -- LE DUDE
This looks fabulous! I love the Love Theme from Astroslut... cool mix
Great Mix, The originality on this is tops. I use several of these songs in DJ mixes I do, namely; tracks 1, 4 ,15, 23, and I've never seen anyone else use Hurricane on a mix. That Shaftman track is phat. I haven't heard of half of this material, but I'm sure it's great. I get alot of my wax from garage sales, secondhand stores, and estate sales, and come up with some priceless songs that way. Very, very nice. This should get a mention in the Mix Of The Week, I would think.
I like the look of this Thomas, want to trade for my Jazz Mag Numb mix?

Congratulations stud! You put the X in sex. Anyway, this looks pretty wonderful Thomas, although I'd probably blush a bit while listening to it. So there's a DVD that goes with it!?
This is great. Love that Takako Minekawa cover!
Yeah, fantastic stuff, I tried to comment on it yesterday but the site was down. I remember thinking it should be MOTW so, well deserved.
look sexcellent! You've dug deep for some of these.
cool
Congratulations!!!
You dirty, dirty man. I love it. Congratulations!
Congrats. A nice contrast to the overwhelming sentimentality of this upcoming weekend.
Jayne Mansfield? Lovely girl, but it seems she had this problem with lobsters... Congrats on your bonerrific mix taking this week's honor Thomas.
Congratson getting a "bonerific" from lo-fi. Nice mix from start to finish. Did somebody here a order a peperonni pizza?!?
While I can't define what makes a great mix, I know it when I see it ;-) Congratulations Thomas!
Ha. Looks great. (And nice Potter Stewart quote, Curtis.)
Congrats, Thomas.
A well deserved MOTW Thomas, excellent stuff.
Herzlichen Glueckwunsch. Der Day One Track rechtfertigt schon die Auszeichnung.
Nice job, Thomas! Congrats on MOTW!
Did you know that Takako Minekawa is who says "Play-stay-shone!" at the end of those commericals for PSOone games? Just a bit of interesting trivia. Great mix...
Nice one Thomas, you dirty bugger. Congrats on mix of the week, this is good dirty fun.
Just a quick one to thank y'all for your warm words and congratulations. The were much appreciated.
Yes, well (as I cross my legs) this is better than sex 'cause, uhm, I'd pay for this mix and I'd rarely, or almost never very often, pay for sex...This mix (along with your "Black Gold of the Sun...") has earned a spot on my iPod. That's my highest praise mate. Oh, and speaking of "Gay Bar."
I would love to exchange my own filthy mix {Jazz Mag Numb} with you sometime Mohr as you seem to be a man with good very taste in tunes!
maybe question mark and the mysterions cover of suicide's cherie cherie? haha. but the creepy breathe-shudder at the end really sells the farm
