Hi friends,
it seems the liner notes I wrote don't fit. Either it gets the track list or the liner notes, so if you feel like it, you can read them in a previous post of this mix, called simply Anxious Pop Heart (without the 'again'). I'll have to write shorter liner notes from now on!

And now a piano ditty I found from a vinyl by this unknown band called Marshall Hain. I didn't really liked the album, but this ditty is funny and serves as an intro to other favourites, Chad & Jeremy. What? You need more 60s? No problem! Here's a slice of fantastic Beatlesque music by this obscure band, The Beethoven Soul, who were dressed as if they were on a parade or something. A great record fair find. The record is a bit worn out, and you'll notice this every time they say "sh", but I needed to include this song. `Anxious Heart' is a familiar feeling these days which has led me to call this compilation like this. Perfect 70's country-rock. I even hear some Elton John on it. And now we're approaching the end. More country-pop, by this guy John Eddie who sometimes tries too hard to sound like Bruce Springsteen, but I liked this tune somehow, `Ain't Nothin' Better (Sex With You)' is the actual title. I wonder what Lisa Loeb has to say about it, but it seemed right to follow this song with a beautiful Banglesque voice and a happy tune like this one. Glow, from Germany, have three albums of clever and catchy pop that you can't miss! Oh, only 3 songs left now! Donna Loren sings this song which, in all honesty, I ignore if it's someone else's song, but she puts her heart on it and I love it. Oh yes, from the 60s. And the last song before the bonus track is a monstrous bargain vinyl bin find. This guy Russell Dashiell made this album in the mid-seventies and the cover should suggest heavy rock. Well, it isn't. It's Cheap Trick meets Badfinger or something. And this is a sensational ballad. And finally, a country fun ditty that I hope leaves you with a smile on your face, called Blue In My Baby's Eyes, by the Cold Cuts. Cheers - Francesc

Oh, the V-Roys! Get their albums fast if you like your pop with a healthy dose of twang, but pop always comes first for them too. Oxfords, another band which seemed to have come out of nowhere. Fantastic harmony pop from the late sixties (although they also had an inclination for Jefferson Airplane-like music). David Grahame is a Macca impersonator, it's scary. His albums are exquisite samples of the best McCartney-meets-Freedy Johnston pop you can imagine. In a word, he makes the albums Macca fans wish Paul was doing now. Hmm, more Beatles-influeced music. Andrew Gold, another genius playing with a fab four influence. Next, two 70s tunes, again very Beatlish (Lindisfarne even display a copy of the Beatles' Montly Magazine on the cover of the album from which this tune is taken -as well as another beautiful thing...) oh, and I've always loved this song from The Sweet for its wah wah parts (or some effect like that). Elmo Lincoln is the band from Jackson Browne's brother Steve and Colin Boyd. I pulled this song from a very limited-editon tape. More... oh, another Beatles-influenced number by an earlier band by Charlie Chesterman, Scruffy The Cat, before errr, more sixties harmony pop. The Stephen Crane Village who? A "summer is fun" pop song, rescued from oblivion by Jeff Glenn, *the* provider of obscure 60's harmony pop compilations to die for. Lost Jukebox is the name. There must be around 130 volumes so far. Paradise! Like finding a gold mine. Orphan's It's A Good Day is magnificent folk-rock. Next, another obscurity from a Kansas band, The Artists, from the 80s. Perfect powerpop!! And oh, my friends, let's relax a bit with this beautiful soul number by The Charmels. Love that horn section!

(Here are the original comments, in order:)
Here we go again. Shep & The Limelites' Everything Is Going To Be Alright is a real find, from a soul and r&b band I only heard about quite recently. It sounds unlike most of the bands of that ilk at that time. Next, a song by the 60's Swedish band `14'. Maybe they were so happy with the harmonies that they mixed them more upfront than the singer's vocals! `Wasting My Life' is a great bargain find, The Hippos. Their 1999 album has a FOWesque sound, really recommended. I wonder if they have more. Procession, from the 60's, sound as if they had Elvis Costello onboard (listen to that bridge). Maybe Procession was an inspiration for Mr. MacManus! The 60's Dutch band The Tee Set has always been a favourite. I got this tune from an RPM sampler. Love that hammond on the background. Johnny G, from the 70s, sounds like Ray Davies, I swear. Back to the early 60s - or maybe it's late 50s!- with the Miller Sisters. I love the 60's GG sound, what can I say. This stereo mix may be too harsh, but the sound is very clear.

First off - that Scruffy song is an all-time favorite. Charlie produced my old band's first two albums, so I'm obviously biased. Francesc, this is another fantastic collection. The first two you sent me are remarkable - I love the fact that there is SO much wonderful pop music that I have never heard. You've continued that tradition here as well - many new (to these ears) exciting sounds, combined with other favorites. Save me a copy, please.

This looks fantastic, though the bands are, for the most part, unfamiliar to me. "Orange Guitar Amp" must be perfect. Cheers to Valis for the helping hand.
