this is the mix i made for the February Mixies theme "Guilty Pleasures" ... i had planned on going through my 45 collection & making a mix using cheesy early-to-mid-eighties pop, but there wasn't enough in there that i felt guilty for owning, i mean ... come on, erasure & the ramones & men without hats aren't embarassing at all. instead i made a mix of songs that no matter how overplayed they may be & even if most of these bands have much more to offer aside from these sensational pop hits ... i cannot force myself to turn the station when i hear them ... instead i'll actually turn the stereo up & sing along as loud as i can.
