Comment:

Sometimes the hardest thing about starting a mix is deciding what you're going to put on it. I left that completely up to chance with this mix. Using five dice (YAHTZEE!!!) and my cataloguing system, I selected 25 songs (from approximately 1350 CDs) at random. The only input I had on this mix was which of those 25 tracks would go on it, and in what order. I'm actually quite pleased with this. Here are 18 songs, almost none of which have ever appeared on one of my mixes before. Also, where I thought there we be a lot of disjointedness, all of these songs seem to hold together pretty coherently. For the curious, the 7 that didn't make it were: "Little Trouble Girl" by Sonic Youth (used it on a mix recently), "Crazy Bombs" by Soho (crappy song), "We Belong" by Lowen & Navarro (on a previous mix), "Lady Sings the Blues" by Billie Holiday, "Outtasite (Outta mind)" by Wilco, "I Wanna Melt With U" by Prince & NPG, "The Last Man Well Known to Kingpin" by Tobin Sprout.
