Comment:
Overplayed, overhyped, and overpraised, yet one of the most potently enduring images in pop culture and like it or not Jim Morrison keeps comin back like an unflushable turd!! Blame Oliver Stone; blame Ray Manzarek; blame Ian Astbury; blame Music Mags for comin back year after year and exhuming the myth. Amongst the pompous ramblings of a drunk who thought himself a poet, there was a fine lyricist and a great performer who continues to enthrall each new generation!!
Feedback:
You know, you really might be NUMBER ONE. Another thoughtful and inspiring mix.
Someone should lay a copy of this on Jim Morrison's grave, I believe he would dig it.
hey, I volunteer to do the delivery on that if you'd like to trade this one for something . . .

"Unflushable turd"?! Thanks for the image, Dom! ;) I usually make my feelings for the Doors pretty clear, but I have to say this is a great mix.
"Overplayed, overhyped, and overpraised" yes yes
"Amongst the pompous ramblings of a drunk who thought himself a poet" yes yes yes. but the mix looks good esp side 1

another wonderful mix dom, i especially like side one. side two doesn't look quite as appealing though. maybe it's just an aversion to pearl jam. :)
Mm, not one of my favourite groups, but I can't deny there's some good tunes on their first album. Either way this is good work as per usual Dom.
I'm with the swede here Dom (1)..., great execution.
Great mix and very cool tribute. I've made my feelings known about the Doors before in comments. I saw them perform live several times including small clubs and they were a great live band in the early years. Yes, Morrison became an obnoxious drunk and one show of theirs was probably the worst performance of any band I've ever seen anywhere but when he was on... I guess you just have to had been there. There's a reason for the myth.
I'll just echo everyone else's sentiments: not a huge fan of the band, but I am a fan of this mix. Good job.
Dude! You've been busy... Well, I do like the Doors, and this is a pretty spiffy tribute. (What, no Elvis?)
love this marianne faithful version
Your comments summarize my feelings about the Doors, the most overrated and underrated rock group ever?
