Comment:

I've been impressed with several of the Pumpkins mixes I've seen lately (Walter Helfer, Ryan Unplugged, Funkypopples) so I decided to throw my hat into the ring. Growing up in the Chicagoland area when Mellon Collie came out, was something. I was bombarded almost everyday on the radio, in school and by my friends. It got to the point where, when they were breaking up I was like "get it over with all ready!" But finally looking back, there was a reason why they were so damn popular, despite Billy and his ego, they made some fucking great music! I tried to stay away from most of their singles, just because they have 'Rotten Apples' for a singles collection, and I tried to stay with stuff I love, and to me says what the band was about. It would be wishful thinking to believe they will get back together after the reports of Billy pointing fingers at James for reason for the break-up, just like a week ago, but it's a shame to know they could still be making music that is more poignant than anything most bands on the radio could ever put out. I've rambled enough here... Enjoy!

'Today' is an absolutely beautiful song- thanx for including it despite the desire to stay away from the singles. 'Thru the Eyes of Ruby' is a hidden gem that, I think, people need to appreciate more. Ironically, I think the Pumpkins aren't that great. Billy Corgan's voice annoys the crap out of me (most of the time.) I'm glad James Iha moved to 'A Pefect Circle.' We don't need no reunion, Pumpkin-style yo! Nevertheless, good tribute. Out.
