Comment:
All the mixes I've seen on this site seemed to be associated with the 70's, 80's, MOR and sitting in your bedsit crying yourself to sleep - my mix is different:1. it will make you happy whilst you shake your thang
2. you won't hang yourself, you'll smile
3. it includes quality choons from the UK/US house scene and a sprinkling of 2 Step Garage thrown in for good measure
so get these records and get a life
love and peace to you all

*Note to fools* HOUSE MUSIC SUCKS! GET A MELEDY. rock n' roll will never die but shitty dance music will always be replaced by shittier dance music. With that said, have a wonderful day you silly raver kids with your silly clothes.
*Note to Justin*
aye some of it does suck big time, rock 'n' roll will never die
and alas so will shitty dance music
...but what can you do about, hey ?
PS I have no clothes on and am not raving
sorry mate
keep rockin' - rocky

Sad thing is I have never even heard of ANY of these bands listed here. Sheesh and to think I was up on most of the underground music of today...
Shane - too underground for you, chief ?
rgds - rocky

Gapskank - your comments too deep - i'm afraid i don't undertand....
I have to say living in NYC for the past 20 years that house is the future ... i have nothing against rock 'n' roll but when you go to clubs like Twilo et al, it means so much more ... people smiling, the ladies dancing ... the lyrics may seem somewhat braindead, but the whole vibe and groove and MELEDY (*Note to Justin*) make you glad you're alive ... that's a lot more than what i can say for the 'hang-yourself-mixes' i've seen listed on this site ...man, they're not even mixed, they're cut-after-cut - is the site being infiltrated by Goths ?
I must say this is probably one of the only real 'mixes' I have seen on the site, great selection Rocky! Shame that there is no audio of this, as I would love to hear it! I suggest Justin listens to this and maybe he will chill out and realise the trash he has been listening to for too many years, and that his idea of 'shitty clothes' maybe arent that bad, and that his jean jacket and drainpipes went out, along with his sex life in the 70s!!
ummmm. . . there's a Timo Maas song called "The Dance Original??" or is it the song "Ubik (The Dance Original)?" and peace division kills me. . . will be seeing one-half of them at Centro-Fly this month. BTW - nobber?? without the "hang-yourself-mixes" the high of Twilo and great dance music mean a hell of a lot less. . .
noiseboy
well, you are correct the official release is called Ubik ... however, if you have the promo or some white label pressing on vinyl dependent on the country you bought it in, it is whatever is printed or scribbled on the label ... in this case The Dance Original is what i have in my collection - i bought the rest of the mixes - official Ubik - on the UK Perfecto label ... keep splitting those hairs, luv & peace and big-up yourself at Peace Division ...rocky

mr noiseboy - i have to strongly disagree with you - for me Punk tried to kill the first wave of 'hang-yourself-mixes' and MOR from the 70's, then came the UK Acid House scene that killed the 'hang-yourself-mixes' and blandness of the 80's - the latter scene and today's dance music scene can quite happily live without 'hang-yourself-mixes'/MOR stuff ... it is something constantly evolving on it's own level ... i guess in a way i am glad that the 'hang-yourself-mixes' exist so that we have something to compare great dance music against ....believe me Twilo and the other joints are light years ahead with many happy people ...
samantha, darling ... i really don't know where to start - of course you can have one without the other .. of course go ahead and mope (do as you please, it's a free country), but please don't over do it and commit suicide ... life is really enjoyable and that's what comes out in dance music ... go out and large it - ciao for now, nobber
I for one am glad I have one without the other, life is a lot more enjoyable without depression - you should try it!
Hey, this is rich: the music most often branded brain-dead has stirred up one of the most philosphical threads in quite a while ... that puts a smile on my face. BTW, I'm a dance/IDM/drum'n'bass/etc. fan for a number of reasons including that it often finds itself being the new jazz without ever actually aspiring to ... My jazz frame of reference being e.g. Courtney Pine. Anyhow, I'd be happy to hear this mix anytime, just to hear somebody else's dance music....
