this looks interesting. a few bands i know, and a lot of bands i've heard of, but not much by.
I would throw in 'Jesus Walkin on the Water' by the Violent Femmes just because of the title, as the first track. Good mix though.
Luv the Mercury Rev track..ha, it's The Hair & Skin Trading Company again...phew, Curtis, I thought you'd gone commercial after the last mix and woz busy warming us up for a Kylie Minogue Retrospective, so I'm pleased to say ????? to Derek Bailey/Min Xiao-Fen, Four Tet, Krakatoa....I just suddenly thought of Woody Allen's exchange with Christopher Walken in Annie Hall: 'Excuse me Curtis I'm due back on Planet Earth..'(well, it's near enough correct)....great stuff as always Curtis!
I too love that Mercury Rev track.., hell, I like the first ten to open....percentage known-to-unknown hovers at or near 80%.., a new record..? Nope, a new mix. (Nice closer too!)
so many goodies here... 1-3 and 6-7 are beautiful stretches, and i agree w/valis re: "fallen angel"
Excellent picks all around. Love the MR, XTC (a masterpiece), SAC, MtH, Neu, 4Tet, H&STC, DB and KC pick 'specially.
This looks wonderful. Big time dittoes on XTC and Mott.
What 'Mohr' said - who ever he is ;~)
wonderful again, curtis. love the mercury rev, circle, silver apples, four tet and king crimson especially.
lovely intro and I really love that four tet album
with Valis on the Rev tune...although the first ten tracks are flat-out superfly and laden with starchy goodness...good go! *Upon looking again: what Valis said!
Looks like I'm late to the party on this one, (as usual). Count me in with the long list of admirers here, though. This looks fantstic, Curtis.
Lots of good stuff. XTC, Rev, Mott, etc.
Nice bookenders. FIlled with lots of aural goodies. By the way, as the Zen Master said when asked "What moves master, the tree or the wind?" "Neither. the mind moves"
