Comment:

31. Ian Dury & the Blockheads - Sweet Gene Vincent. I've wanted to do this for quite some time, pay tribute to the greatest figures in rockabilly. These two sure cut a lot sides, though Gene's output after the early 60s gets pretty spotty. Still, damn few can rock like these two did in their prime, and no one sings like Gene. This one is dedicated to Cam, everyone's favorite Greaseball, for hipping me to so much cool rockabilly.

Awesome! Gene and Eddie. Those guys got more out of the genre than anybody, even Elvis. So many great singles. I'd love to get a copy of this. I recently saw Hot Rod Gang on t.v. with a cameo by Gene Vincent.

"Summertime Blues"...the ultimate sunshine-good times-song. Far better than the Alan Jackson cover, although The Who cover on LIVE AT LEEDS is pretty damned cool. Great collection, good to see there's still some interest in artists like Gene & Eddie. Cheers! -Famous.
