Comment:
31. Ian Dury & the Blockheads - Sweet Gene Vincent. I've wanted to do this for quite some time, pay tribute to the greatest figures in rockabilly. These two sure cut a lot sides, though Gene's output after the early 60s gets pretty spotty. Still, damn few can rock like these two did in their prime, and no one sings like Gene. This one is dedicated to Cam, everyone's favorite Greaseball, for hipping me to so much cool rockabilly.Feedback:
Nice. I want one. :-)
Sean where is Gene's Cat Man? Surely one of the greatest RnRoll Flips ever? Otherwise a great selection...QUIFFTASTIC, DADDYO!! WONDERFUL!
FANTASTIC!! A fitting tribute to two of the greatest rockers ever.
Mmmm! Good rockin' t'night! I can remember the first time I heard many of these-none excited me more than "Something Else"..."C'Mon Everybody" and "Strollin' Guitar" too! Great blend Sean!
I don't like rockabilly very much-unless its done by these two. great job
This is fantastic Sean.
YOWZA!!! i get sick quick of a lotta rockabilly but ol' gene and eddie are just 100% rock n' roll perfection to me... great selections, every last one. if you wanna trade....
everybody's rockin', great guys
Awesome! Gene and Eddie. Those guys got more out of the genre than anybody, even Elvis. So many great singles. I'd love to get a copy of this. I recently saw Hot Rod Gang on t.v. with a cameo by Gene Vincent.
yup..bring it, Lally!
Looks very good, Sean.
Excellent stuff, Sean. Cool bookends.
this mix kicks it!...great choices as well!
Fantastic stuff, Sean! Every one a winner!
Awesome. That about sums it up.
Two of the all-time champs, w/ two great bookend tributes from the Stray Cats & Ian Dury. C'mon everybody!
Yeah, two of the greats. Excellent mix.
two of the best! love it!
"Summertime Blues"...the ultimate sunshine-good times-song. Far better than the Alan Jackson cover, although The Who cover on LIVE AT LEEDS is pretty damned cool. Great collection, good to see there's still some interest in artists like Gene & Eddie. Cheers! -Famous.
