Comment:
This alphabetically pretentious compilation was made for me to listen to on my way to NY, to play the illustrious CBGB's...The bathrooms weren't as bad as everyone makes them out to be! We played to a crowd of 13 people, the soundman was a fucking prick, but I had a great time gracing the same stage as Joey, Johnny, Tommy and Dee Dee, so it was more than worth it! We had to stay in some rinky-dink hotel in Lodi, NJ, hence my reasoning for putting "Horror Hotel" on this comp, since NY's waaay too expensive all around!... The room smelled like farts and beer, sweat and cigarettes...Romantic, isn't it? Yeah, not really...I can't wait to go back there, though...
Feedback:
I think it's brilliant. Must've been amazing to play CBGB's.
Thanks, Twiggy, you have good taste! Honestly, I couldn't stop laughing every minute or so to myself and then out loud through the microphone cuz I was just too thrilled to be on that stage that spawned so many greats...The Ramones, The Cramps, Richard Hell, etc., etc...The coolness factor would've been upped a notch or two if the year was '77...(Sigh..) I'm sure I looked retarded up there with my big toothy smile and my heart ripped out of my chest and stapled on my sleeve...Yes, it was quite simply amazing...Thanks for noticing...
Why couldn't you stay at a cheap hotel in NY?
I guess you didn't read my comments about NY being expensive? Maybe you just missed that part! Go back and read it again, and remember, keep off the freon while you're reading it this time!
