Comment:
In the wake of Ms Love's recent headlines, I was having an argument with a colleague who considered her a worthless waste of her (celebrity) skin. So I made him this CD. I like Courtney Love. She's one of the last true rock'n'rollers, and - considering she's made just four "real" albums - this format-straining "Best Of" is bursting with genuinely fine rock'n'roll and witty provocative lyrics. Courtney Love might be troubled. She might be a human car crash. She might even be a tragedy waiting to happen. But on the basis of her music alone, she's at least a million miles from worthless. And I would go so far as to say that her legacy exceeds that of her late husband. Now, let the outrage begin ...
Feedback:
I can't believe I'm the first to comment on a mix devoted to someone whose life is currently a train wreck waiting to happen! Anyway, I've never been a big fan, but she has written some top notch songs, and has great taste when it comes to covers (Echo & the Bunnymen, Young Marcle Giants, Unrest). Very clever title too!
