i found that my mixes were getting a little staid ... so i uploaded a good part of my collection, pressed the random button on itunes, and waited for magic to happen. and it did! i would never ever have thought of combining her space holiday and the soundtrack for monsoon wedding, nor club 8 and nana mouskouri ... and the pop will eat itself to architecture in helsinki is sublime in a way that could only have been created by random chance. the title comes from a comment heard as a pickup line in a coffee bar. the pickup-ee was totally insulted and left in a huff (although she did look A LOT like nana)... and it was the best line i had heard in a while... the picture is by elizabeth peyton.
