Comment:

This mix began as a study of great lost bands that imploded prior to making what surely would have been landmark LPs. Added some live tracks (Who & VU) & some underappreciated favorites to flesh it out. Thanx 2 Valis for the rockin' robots.

Mmm! Let's all Dance the Mutation!!!
You're bringin' the full load here lo-fi. A lot of bands I look at, name-wise, and shake my head at what coulda' been...still feel blessed more than short-changed we got anything by 'em. Especially the Misunderstood, Tomorrow (!!!), and the Pretty Things. ("Defecting Grey" forever!) Roky's band had to be on one of the worst labels of all time. (See: the Golden Dawn, etc.) As for Amon Duul II.., well, a collective's center rarely holds. Yes, point me at the sky and take me to the sun, in your simply saucer!

great digs here lo-fi...flat-out bring'n a shot to the netheregions! Big ups to the Amon Duul--one of my favorite songs from their collective--13th Floor, Frond and last but surely not last, Misunderstood! Great stuff...must work a barter on this one!

Hey Jim - this looks very interesting and mostly unfamiliar. Thank goodness the Who made Quadrophenia before going into decline. Some folks think that Television's first album is their classic, but I wish they would have stuck around longer for a HUGE masterpiece.
