i feel really fucking old today. 10 years ago i was 15 and on spring break with my family. 3 days later i heard the news and i still have never felt so sad about anything. i ripped down all my Nirvana posters and refused to listen to any of their records for a long long time. Nirvana was then and still is now my all time favorite band. they changed my life. i think the major reason i still love them so much today is that they were such name droppers. they exposed me to some of my favorite bands ever. The Wipers, Pixies, Young Marble Giants, Mudhoney, Sonic Youth. they changed my ideas about what music should sound like. they opened up my mind on things like sexuality and politics. they are the reason i will always be a punk rocker at heart because i know that punk rock is about attitude not fucking mohawks. they made me take depression seriously. they are the reason i started playing music. they are the reason i have been such a music snob. they are the reason i hate Pearl Jam (even though after years i have come around to excepting that Pearl Jam IS a good band even though they aren't very cool). they are the reason i still have long hair and wear ripped jeans and converse. they are the reason i hate your band. they are the reason. these are my 25 favorite Nirvana songs. i didn't include any of the hits because those are classic rock songs now and Nirvana will never be classic rock to me.
