I've just returned from a business trip to Nebraska after conducting some management training for the truly lovely people in a tiny city. When I returned, many people asked me for all of the details. I decided this is as good a way as any.............................
Used cruise control and napped thru Iowa..........saw horned bovines.......hit a bird just east of Lincoln (RIP my little friend)......got a hotel room and wallowed in a a little self-pity.....noticed that even in the bible belt pay-per-porn was available (I only watched the Discovery channel, I swear)........spider on my ceiling.........fooled my class into thinking I was sane and smart.......brought a hockey stick w/me (Nebraskans had no idea what it was, honest)............ bribed my classes with candy........ saw what Amtrak does to beautiful old train stations (stupid history-forgetting bastards)........ saw an old friend and rekindled my crush on her (no more than that, though; she was pretty confident that in such a tiny gossip-ridden town we would soon be rumored to be an item)............smoked too much and missed her when I left........piece of crap rental car CD player cut out in the middle of Iowa (hello, talk radio...sigh)........decided that I might fly next time I visit Nebraska.
Expensed the whole thing. Hope I'm approved for the smokes. :-)
