Comment:

Who needs radio or eMpTV?!?! I'm my own DJ :-P I'm just really digging around trying to find out about some good new songs & bands....with a little help from MTV2's Subterranean, some recommendations, & my own research. I have been absolutely OBSESSED with the track by Broken Social Scene this past week, as well as some of their other songs... so out of this batch, BSS & Snow Patrol are the ones i've latched onto the quickest... plus I still have yet to have gotten into the others, which are all mostly new to me. Anyway....based on some accessible & catchy indie bands & songs that are representative
here, throw me some more suggestions, will ya!! catchy hooks & basslines...new & old!! pretty please :-D

Check out: David and the Citizens, The Secret Machines, and Pinback... Those were the first three that came to mind.

Give the latest Stars albume "heart" a whirl, they're label mates with B.S.S (and you not the only one addicted to stars & sons). If you like hooks and baselines try out Juno (R.I.P, I think). There last album "a future lived in past tense" is nothing short of amazing. The Decemberists have a nice folky/ anarchronistic sound to them, kinda like Neutral Milk Hotel...um... American Analog Set...er..maybe some Versus....let's see....I'm not sure if the whole Indie rock thing is something new to you (is it?) but I'll assume you know Death Cab for Cutie what with your Postal Service songs...but if not go get them. All of the them. Happy Hunting!

Nice mix. Suggestions? Let's see. The increasingly popular Death Cab For Cutie, Mazarin, the Lucksmiths, Heavy Blinkers, Zumpano and pas/cal are all bands I'd think you'd like based on the above.

Great mix. That Notwist song is killer.
Check out "Walking with Thee" by Clinic or "Crawling with Idiot" by Elbow. Someone already mentioned Pinback, but "Charbourg" is my favorite song by them...you'd like it. You may also want to look into Hayden. The tracks "Stem" or "Tragedy" are good introductory songs. Check out my mixes that I have posted here. "The Agony of Honesty" and "I Stretch My Neck to Look Up At Him" should be right up your alley.
