Comment:
Springtime!:It's been Spring here in Virginia for a little while, and I wanted to encapsulate in a mix my great joy that the season is upon us.
I have some inchoate thoughts on Springtime as a multi-layered experience, one being the chaos of bugs, plants, moving water, noises, birds, and blooming plants, all serving to stupefy a mere mortal mixer, hurried along by the intoxicating warmth of the sun.
Related to this, I had thoughts of the change of season as a kind of religious experience in the out-of-doors. Once day I'll have to investigate William Blake and William James to see what they might have to say on the matter. Maybe Walt Whitman too while I'm at it. But that's not for now since I want to get this mix out.
The winter here is not as severe as some of you in Minnesota, Scotland, New York, Sweden, and other really cold places might have to endure. But I'm still mighty glad the grass is growing, and the birds are out and about.
Enjoy the mix!

Feedback:
sorry folks - I submitted it once, but there was a problem with the connection during the process.
Delightful. I like the "O Brother Where Art Thou" postlude, the Zombies, the Beatles picks are faves, and my mom's best friend grew up with the Rascals. You used one of their best songs, too.
Beautiful.
definitely looks great!
Very damn cool.
Steve, Great job! "Just My Imagination" is a clever touch at that point, and so is "Big Rock Candy Mountain."
weel the spring was here last week but this morning when I woke up it was below zero again (Celsius) but this mix looks soft and sunny and that's just what we all need right now
Nice stuff Steve. That cover's how I want it to be outside. But spring feels late this year (you missed out England in that list).
This looks very lovely, Steve. Some really great picks - love that Pastoral Symphony into Tull! :~)
A truly wonderful mix, Steve, and an awesome cover to boot. Nice to see you back once again. Hope you're well. Drop me a line when you have a mo!
Very nice Steve.....I can hear the birds singing!
I dig it.
Celebration music all the way, I like the way you've got Rampal & Grapelli rubbing shoulders with tghe Zombies & the Temptations -- looks really well-done.
Steve! This looks great. It is good to see you posting mixes again!
Of course, I love the XTC picks. And you can't go wrong with the Nat King Cole Trio.
Speaking of which...
Look for a new installment of People's Republic of Cool... COMING SOON!

Nice, Steve. I like this one a lot.
This looks awesome.
interesting mix and cool cover!
Another good one Steve, especially like the santana and xtc picks. Really needing that springtime.
Beautiful Steve, really nice work here. Brilliant closer! (I think of Spirit when I view the track list..."Nature's Way", etc.)
This is really lovely. (May I suggest checking out William Wordsworth too.)
A Top Ten Mix of the Week!
Nice one, Steve! Congratulations!
Steve:
I was "of that mood" two days ago, and so I took this downstairs and layed down on the sofa to listen to it as the snow fell outside; thinking-"I could use some Spring!" Beautiful work here! The full range of emotions conjured in one package...
To Spring
O THOU with dewy locks, who lookest down
Through the clear windows of the morning, turn
Thine angel eyes upon our western isle,
Which in full choir hails thy approach, O Spring!
The hills tell one another, and the listening 5
Valleys hear; all our longing eyes are turn'd
Up to thy bright pavilions: issue forth
And let thy holy feet visit our clime!
Come o'er the eastern hills, and let our winds
Kiss thy perfumFd garments; let us taste 10
Thy morn and evening breath; scatter thy pearls
Upon our lovesick land that mourns for thee.
O deck her forth with thy fair fingers; pour
Thy soft kisses on her bosom; and put
Thy golden crown upon her languish'd head, 15
Whose modest tresses are bound up for thee.
---William Blake
