Comment:

Elvis was "The King" of rock 'n' roll, but Stan Getz was "The Sound" of jazz — one of the undisputed greats of the tenor saxophone. Getz's early career was influenced by Lester Young, but he soon developed an identity that was uniquely his own. A master of all tempos, he made a huge impression with Charlie Byrd in 1962 with "Desafinado."
