Comment:

Mix rules don't apply when you're making mixes for children. Try explaining why there is only one Sugarbabes track on a tape lasting 90 minutes! When Lucy heard I was doing her this mix she demanded Sugarbabes, Anastica, Sophie Ellis and Elvis trax she didn't know. I know, too she likes Busted - a band I draw the line at, so I thought I'd try her out with Franz Ferdinand, Undertones and Supergrass. Most of this I think she'll like, though I think I'm pushing it with Kim Fowley and The White Stripes. I think she may be a tad disappointed that I don't have the latest Anastica or Sophie Ellis, but hey I'm on the button with all three Sugarbabes Albums. The only tracks here I could live without would be Destiny's Child and The Wondermints, otherwise I'd be quite happy sticking this on my deck. I only hope I don't get a rap over the knuckles from her Mother for a dodgy lyric that slipped past my ears! I think this is a pretty cool mix for a nine-year old!

Very rad mix for a 9 year old. It will hopefully stimulate her mind. I know when I was nine I would have loved to been exposed to all types of "cool" music. Good work! Hopefully a second volume will come about.

What? No They Might Be Giants? That's the ultimate adult music for kids! Looks great, though. Nice picks with David Bowie, Beatles, and White Stripes.

Well, I'm no 9 year old, but, this looks pretty cool to me, 'cept maybe the Destiny's Child and Furtado and the Sugarbabes/Anastic axis who are new to me, but as I said I'm no 9 year old. And the Breeders do the Buffy theme ?! WAY COOL!!!Did I mention that I'm not 9 years old?

I can't even begin to imagine having a disc like this when I was 9. The only song from the Sugarbabes I know is Freak Like Me which is great, but I have the feeling the liberal Gary Numan samples might be what hooked me. Great stuff within the bounds of your target audience. Love the Undertones and Dickies picks!

Dom, This is cool. I did a mix for a 9 year old last year - look here - and also had to do a Destiny's Child. (Other than that it is all different.) I'm sure she'll love it!

This is great for a 9-year-old, and well done for the Undertones and Franz Ferdinand picks. Ditto Curtis on the Buffy theme too!

Yes, ditto Curtis and Marie on Buffy. I think I really need to hear that. Also... nothing wrong with 'Say My Name' (great track) and, how could you use three Sugababes songs and not have 'Overload'?!

Cool mix for anyone of any age. I was listening to Pablo Cruise when I was nine. Still the finest band ever IMO.
