Comment:

I am incredibly and utterly stuck on what to put on a tape for a friend of mine. I was also rather uninspired whilst trying to make a mix for a road trip and decided not to go because of it. (That, and I didn't shower.)So, to end the lack of inspiration, I made this tape. Working title was "Reckless, Abandoned," which evolved to "A Bitter End to Bitterness," which was inverted when I realized I was still bitter. This mix has an unusual amount of songs in the key of E. It also has plenty of songs that lack a clean ending, so pauses had to be done with the utmost of care. There are two really long songs on side 2: a 7.5 minute opus from Mercury Rev and nine minutes of sheer brilliance and beauty from Fairport Convention.Sadly, those old tapes I bought at Goodwill may be taking their toll: at several points during recording, I looked at the tape, and it looked like it was slowly being cut in half. Maybe it's time to buy a head cleaner.

Oookay. It looks as though AotM messed up ONCE AGAIN, and I am unable to change it. So, here it is in comment form: The last track of side 2 belongs on side 1. Side 1, then, begins and ends with a Gibson interview, and side 2 begins with an interview and ends with a cut-up "Passion" ad. (Why Mel Gibson? I like beginning and ending sides with talking, and I had the Passion disc lying around.)
