Comment:
Browsing through my record collection (in my mind) I thought I might have enough songs to make a nice compilation about the bad habit of the TV and the redeeming powers of the radio. The person receiving this CD had also indicated he wanted a bit indie-ish mix CD, so I thought I could combine the two. Upon compiling the CD I realised I might not have enough material after all, so I broadened the scope a bit to include information in general. And of course the Dire Straits are not indie, but what the heck. It's the music that counts, not whether it's cool or not.A few weeks after I completed the mix I also got hold of Duran Duran's Too Much Information, a track that wouldn't have been out of place on this mix. It maybe would have worked best between the Dire Straits and Moondog Jr.

Feedback:
Props for quoting U2 in the title. Cheers! -Famous.
I'd suggest that the Gang Of Four's "5.45" would fit very well here. Possibly right after the Disposable Heroes.
Great Idea - My own "Media" mix will be updated with some of these! I love Disposable Heroes (mine starts with their inspiration Gil Scott Heron's The Revolution Will not be televised.)Maybe Frank Zappa's I am the Slime?
